With winter here and the weather getting colder for outdoor activities, keep your Best Bud safe and warm. Enjoying an adventure out will make their day and yours.

Don’t forget to keep both you and your pet hydrated and make frequent pit stops. Traveling out-of-town? Be sure to locate “pet friendly” hotels and places that will allow pets and book ahead. Know all the rules of the airlines if you plan to fly with them. Below is a checklist for packing your pet’s needs.

But when your Best Bud needs to stay behind at home, locate a reliable sitter and leave them the necessary medical information, feeding instructions, your contact numbers, and your pet’s Veterinarian contact. 1. Collapsible travel bowl, their food, low fat treats, calming aids (natural stress relief tabs), way to scoop litter, and water

2. Collar with ID tags– pet’s name, your name, contact phone number, and a photograph of pet if identification is needed

3. Leash, travel crate, favorite toys, car harness, and first aid kit

4. Copy of pet’s health records, rabies vaccinations, and health certificate

Traveling Checklist:

When your pet is on their outside adventure, be sure to check for ticks and other bugs that become matted in their fur. We recommend using a flea comb and brush their body from head to toe. Ticks are especially fond of thin skin, so the ears and underarms are popular hiding spots for the bugs.

If your pet is accustomed to lounging on the couch and you’re planning to be outdoors, be sure to keep an eye on their paws. Your pet’s pads are extra sensitive to rough terrain and hot ground. To be extra cautious, purchase boots for your pooch. Not only practical, but they’re cute.
