A working dog refers to a canine working animal that is not just a pet but learns to perform tasks to assist human companions.

1. Assistance dogs help people with various disabilities in every day tasks. Ex: mobility assistance dogs for the physically challenged, guide dogs for the seeing impaired, and hearing dogs for the hearing impaired.

 

2. Rescue dogs locate people who are in difficult situations and need them to save their life.

 

3.        Search dogs locate people who are            missing and their keen sense of smell aid            in the recovery.

 

4.        Herding dogs assist Sheppard and cattle herders managing their flocks and herds.

 

5.        K-9 officers are dogs that are bred and trained to assist law officers in various            tasks such as:  airport searches, locating criminals, and drug tracking.
